How We Test Purity: The HPLC/MS Standard
At PeptideLab, our Scientific Operations Team enforces a strict testing regimen for every batch. We rely on the dual-verification method: HPLC and Mass Spectrometry.
High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
HPLC is used to determine the chemical purity of the peptide. By passing the sample through a column under high pressure, we separate the target peptide from any synthesis byproducts or impurities. Our benchmark for acceptance is >99.1% purity.
Mass Spectrometry (MS)
While HPLC confirms purity, MS confirms identity. By measuring the mass-to-charge ratio of the ions, we verify the exact molecular weight of the peptide, ensuring the sequence is correct and matches the theoretical profile of the target compound.
